Designed to work with Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELTs), including the HR Smith 503-1 ELT range, the antennas in their most basic form transmit the 406 MHz Cospas-Sarsat message and the 121.5 and 243 MHz homing signals. Being a market leader in the design and manufacture of both ELTs and Antennas HR Smith have further developed their ELT antennas to receive GPS. The ability to transmit the distress signals and receive GPS is unique to the HR Smith range of ELT blade antennas.

HR Smith’s range of ELT Antennas includes both whip and blade antenna types for fixed and rotary wing, covering both civil and military aircraft.

As with all HR Smith antennas, the 10-118 series of ELT antennas are manufactured using highly durable and lightweight thermoplastic.
