E-UGS (Expendable Unattended Ground Sensors) are low-cost “consumable” seismic sensors that are quickly emplaced in dead spots, on a perimeter, at frequent IED sites or on “goat trails” to provide early warning from miles away. Returning to an emplaced sensor exposes the war fighter to enemy snipers, IEDs, booby traps and ambushes. E-UGS eliminates those risks to the user and its low cost allows commanders to better decide on where, when and how many devices to leave behind.The sensor can be placed or moved quickly in order to provide constant activity monitoring of soft spots or known hot spots.  Capabilities Integration U.S. forces recently incorporated this technology into a “slew to cue” capability from overhead aerostats automatically slewing high power day/night cameras to the GPS location alert provided by the emplaced sensor. This technology can also “fly to cue” automatically launching a Nighthawk Micro UAV to the GPS location to capture full-motion video and otherwise classify and track the target.E-UGS can also be integrated with other ARA surveillance technology such as our RAPID ground radar system, Nighthawk Micro UAV or IBDSS, our intelligent site security software solution.  Availability ARA is in full rate production and can accommodate rapid initial delivery of new orders within 90 days.
